Technology Presentation IN CLASSROOM

Myself, Chad and Tyler from this Internet for educator class did a presentation on technology incorporation in our teaching practices. We are all phys ed majors so we decided to look at ways to incorporate technology in a physical education environment. We had a Wii set up which was a unreal hit and a Tae Bow station that was a dvd being played on t.v. Our presentation went really well and showed our classmates how easily technology can be incorporated into any teaching lessons. I feel that technology is something new teachers are going to have to incorporate in there lessons in order to connect with future students. While observing the class during our lesson i quickly noticed how much of a hit each activity was. I feel that future educators must look at every lesson they create and try to incorporate some form ICT into their activities. Doing this will help teachers connect with students and give teachers an advantage to shine in their peers eyes.

  1. Great comments! I think that presentation was probably the greatest thing I have seen. I agree that the technology that we presented was a hit and would have been a great addition to any classroom. In order to have success teachers are going to have to take a serious look at technology in the classroom.

  2. Shardizzle. I must admit that your presentation was unreal. It was so fun to see everyone participating in fun activities such as using the wii, and the tae bow station. It was a change of pace and it got everyone involved. MY question for you is how much does this cost for a school to buy? I understand how signigificant it would be in the classroom but how can you incoporate it into other classes such as math, ela, ss etc?

  3. Sounds like you guys put on a pretty good presentation! I agree that including technology in the classroom is a must! Students are becoming much more familar with various technologies, and I think find using technology much more fun than traditional ways of teaching. I think teachers who do not incorporate technology in school are really going to fall behind their fellow teachers. Like you said, the technology being used does not have to be difficult or extreme, and it can still have a big impact on a lesson.

  4. It was excellent presentation. I really enjoyed using the nutrition web site. It really made a huge impression on me. I plan on using it within my classses and with some of my athletes that I coach. I've gotten some positive feedback from some people I've showed it too. I think it will be a big hit with some of the Academys at Warren and Dakota.

  5. Awesome, great ideas on using tech in the Pe class. Fitness videos are a great idea for the class to use and follow along. Also bringing a wii game into the PE class is something i really want to try.

  6. Dear Mr. Sharda,

I am just wondering how a Wii workout compares to a standard workout? I have never actually tried Wii fit and I would like to know if it is a legitimate form of exercise.

My other concern is the tendency of society to flock towards new workout programs and automatically believe that they will provide instant effortless results.

I think incorporating technology is the absolutely essential but I wonder how many students already have a Wii fit at home collecting dust? Technology can greatly assist in fitness but we still need to teach healthy living habits and continuous fitness.

Nice Blog Sumit "the magician" Sharda
